Pulicha Keerai/Gongura Rice

Ingredients

2 cups cooked rice
2 cups Gongura/ Pulicha Keerai
1/2 of a onion, big
5-6 green chillies
4 garlic pods
1 -2 tomatoes,medium size
salt to taste
oil 1 tbsp

Tempering

2 tbsp cooking oil
2 tbsp sesame oil
1/4 tsp mustard seed
1/4 tsp cumin seed
1/4 tsp fenugreek seed
1/2 tsp channa dal
1-2 strands curry leaves
3 whole red chilly

Method

1. In a skillet with 1 tbsp oil, add onion, green chilly,garlic and fry for 2-3 mins
2. Add tomatoes and fry for another 2-3 mins
3. Now add the Gongura leaves and fry till it turns color
4. Cool it and grind it into coarse paste with salt and without adding water
5. In a skillet, with both cooking oil and sesame oil, temper the ingredients mentioned in tempering and finally add the grind gongura paste
6. keep stirring till oil oozes out of the mixture.
7. Now this can be mixed with cooked rice.
