Idli Milagai Podi

Ingredients

1 cup Channa dal/Kadalai Paruppu
1 cup Black urad dal/ulutham paruppu
4-5 Garlic pods
1/4 tsp mustard seed
1/4 tsp fenugreek seed
2 strands curry leaf
4-5 long whole red chilly
salt to taste
pinch of asafoetida
oil

Method

1. with few drops of oil in a skillet, roast channa dal and urad dal seperately and set aside
2. with few more drops of oil, roast mustard, fenugreek,curry leaf and garlic pods along with asafoetida
3. dry roast chilly
4. grind everything together with salt into a little coarse powder
5. store in airtight container and serve as of needed with sesame oil for idli/dosai
