Prawn Curry

Ingredients

1" cinnamon stick
2 cardamon pods
2 cloves
1 javentry
1 bay leaf
1 tsp cumin seeds
15-20 prawns(big)
1 big onion
2 tomatoes
1 tbsp tomato paste
2 tbsp canola or any cooking oil
1 big green chilly
1 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chilly powder
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
curry leaf and coriander leaf
salt to taste
2 cups water

Method

1. In a large skillet over medium heat add oil, and whole masalas like cinnamon cardamon,cloves, javentry, bayleaf and curry leaf
2. then add cumin seed and when splutters add onions green chilliesn and fry for about 5 mins or until onions are transparent
3. Add ginger garlic paste, stir for a couple of mins
4. Now add all powder spices like turmeric, chilly, coriander and garam masala and fry for another 5 mins on low heat
5. Add finely chopped tomatoes followed by tomato paste and water and cover and let it simmer so that the oil separates on the top
6. Now add the cleaned prawns and salt and look for water if required add more. cover and cook until prawns are completely cooked by checking occasionally.
7. add chopped coriander leaves and stir once and switch off the flame.
8. Garnish and serve with chapathi, rice, naan, poori.
