Garam Masala

Garam Masala is a blend of ground spices used extensively in Indian cuisine. spices are usually toasted to bring out more flavor and then ground into paste/powder.
They are usually added to a dish at the end of cooking.It is pungent but not piquant. In north indian cuisine garam masala is used in powder form.In south indian cuisine garam masala is formed into a paste with coconut milk, vinegar or water.
An authentic garam masala is made fresh every day, but homemade masala can be stored in jar for nearly 2 months.
It's a preblended spice that you can find in supermarkets, natural fod stores or indian stores.Garam Masala is a very aromatic spice mix which should be sparingly used. Each spice has a specific quality like
* cinnamon adds sweetness
* pepper adds heat
* nutmeg adds complexity
* coriander makes it a touch lemony and adds texture

Garam Masala is widely used in Indian, nepalese and asian cuisines.It is a spice mix that’s well-known to long-time fans of homemade indian food.Ingredients differ according to region, and also according to individual che’fs preference in adding/deleting the ingredients to make this magic masala. And it's better when made with whole spices that have been roasted and ground.
