Mushroom Tikka Masala

Ingredients
For Marination
8 oz Button Mushroom
3 tbsp Yogurt
salt to taste
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp tandoori masala powder(optional)
1 tsp red chilly powder
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp kasoori methi, crushed

For Gravy
1 onion Finely Minced
2 tomatoes(big) pureed
2 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 tsp tandoori masala powder
1 tsp red chilly powder
1 tsp garam masala powder
salt to taste
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup evaporated milk/ milk

Method
1. Marinate mushroom with the ingredients specified, and keep refrigerate for an hour
2. In a skillet, add oil, and fry the marinated mushroom, and set aside.
3. now in the same skillet, add onion, ginger garlic paste and stir well
4. add in tomato puree and mix well
5. add the tandoori masala powder, chilly powder and salt and mix well
6. add 1/2 cup water and mix well and cover and cook till oil seperates out in sides
7. now add garam masala powder, kasoori methi and evaporated milk/ milk and add in mushrom and in medium heat let it boil until it forms into a gravy.
8. serve hot with chapathi/ paratha/ variety rice/ idli dosai.

  1. Looks yum... Why should we add evaporate milk...?
    Is there an alternative...?
    Any particular brand of evaporated milk (for India)... where can v get it...
