Spicy Tomato Rice

Ingredients
1 1/2 cup Basmathi rice
2 onions finely chopped
2 green chilli, slit in lengthwise
3 big tomatoes
3 garlic pods
1 tsp red chilli powder(optional)
salt to taste
curry leaves, corriander leaves
4-5 tbsp oil(sesame/ vegetable/canola)
mustard, urad dhal,channa dhal for seasoning

Spicy Masala Powder :
1 tbsp channa dhal
1 tbsp corriander seeds
2 tsp sesame seeds
5-6 red chilli

Method

1. cook and cool rice.
2. in a kadai fry the masala powder ingredients with 1 tsp oil and powder it in a blender
3. in a kadai add the oil and when its hot add the mustard and urad dhal and channa dhal for seasoning
4. when it splutters add the chopped onion, and chopped garlic pods.
5. grind the tomatoes and add to the onion and add the masala powder and salt along it
6. check for spicy and if needed add 1 tsp red chilli powder.
7. let it boil and forms a paste with oil seperates out of this
8. mix with rice and serve with raitha
