Converting Photo into a Sketch Image - Using Gimp in Ubuntu

1. open a photo
2. in Layers window, make a duplicate of the photo and name it
3. Select Filters tab, and select Blur ->Gaussian Blur
4. In the Gaussian Blur window select any sharp line(for example in face ,curve shape of cheek)and make it appear to be blurred, by fixing horizontal size to be approximately to 14 or so.
5. Select tab Colors->Invert
6. in Layers window change the Capacity to be 50
7. then right click the image that appears below Capacity in Layers window and click Merge Down
8. select tab Colors->Brightness-Contrast and change contrast around 82 and apply changes
9. select tab Colors->Threshold , and change blue bar code to be around 151 and white bar code to be around 122 and press ok


Note: the measurements are just approximate only. Change depending upon the photo you choose.
